Did you like this novel? why or why not?
Some people might like this novel or did not like this book. However, this novel, Fahrenheit 451 is one of the most favorite books I have read recently, I totally liked this novel. I do not usually read a lot of novels because I am just lazy to read it and it is sometimes very boring, however, this time I was forced to read this novel because my favorite english teacher told us to read it for the blogging thing project. When I got this novel, Fahrenheit 451 from the librarian I was quite terrified. I looked at the fist page of the novel and I couldn't understand any thing from the first page, but as I read through the Fahrenheit 451, it was getting easier and easier and the story was actually appealing to me. I like the way how Ray Bradbury, who is the author of Fahrenheit 451, wrote this novel. For example, the novel had some conflict with a great tense. Also, Ray Bradbury's idea was incredible, for instance Ray Bradbury made a law which is no reading in Guy Montag's society. I was surprised by the author of this novel again, because this book was published about 50 years ago. And this novel actually teach us important thing such as the importance of knowledge and book. In my opinion, Ray Bradbury is the one of the most influential author in 20, 21 century.

Question #7
* are there any settings in this novel which you have found to be beautiful? or disturbing? or memorable? describe these settings and comment on why they were meaningful to you
There are many setting in this novel Fahrenheit 451 that I have found to be beautiful and disturbing and memorable and surprising. I am going talk about the setting that was somehow disturbing to me. It was the part when Guy Montag's wife Mildred betrayed him and Captain Beatty was forcing Guy Montag to burn his own house and Guy Montag killing his one and only captain. After these events I felt so disturbing, because it was a totally bad thing to do as a human and it was just totally unacceptable. Betraying her own husband was so surprising, even they had no communication between two of them, it is not right to betray your own husband or your own wife. That is just a cheating. But instead they should try to understand each other more and forgive them and that is what Jesus Christ wants from us. Also this is very important to me because I often do not trust my friends or my family and for example, to tell the truth I have betrayed my friends a lot when I was young since I hate them so much. However, now when I think of the time when I betrayed my friends, I feel so regret and after I came to this school T.C.I.S, I learned lots of things about the Christianity even I am not a good Christian. Lastly, as I mentioned above revenging or betraying your close people is not a good thing to do.

Question #6
*please choose one passage from the novel that is significant to you. why is this passage meaningful? please type it into one of your entries and comnment on what you think about the passage.
In this novel, Fahrenheit 451 there are numerous passages that were significant to me, however if I were to choose the only one passage from the novel, I would choose the passage what Captain Beatty was talking to Montag in his house.
"We must all be alike. Not everyone born free and equal. as the constitution says, but everyone made equal.. A book is a loaded gun in the house next door. Burn it. Take the shot from the weapon. Breach man's mind."
This passage made me so confused with Captain Beatty, because he meant all the people should be equal/same but later on Captain Beatty mentioned that "A book is a loaded gun in the house next door. Burn it. Take the shot from the weapon" and Captain Beatty is the most ironic character in this novel. However, this passage is significant to me in many different ways, because Captain Beatty was trying to say that entire the human were born equal so reading a book makes some people intelligent but some who do not read books becomes not so intelligent. And people become not equal but all diffrent. Therefore, Beatty is mentioning that a book is a loaded gun in the house next door. I agree with how he described that people made equal, but I do not agree with that book is a loaded gun. However, I think lack of knowledge is a loaded gun in the world.

Question #4
* what is the climax of this novel? what happens? how do the events of this novel make you feel?
I believe this novel Fahrenheit 451 has a certain climax like how other novels have. In this book the climax is the part when Montag's wife Mildred betrays him and tell the fire station that he has books and reads it, and the alarm sounds. Then Mildred runs away from the house and the Captain Beatty was forcing Mildred to burn his house by himself which fireman should do when other people get caught by reading books. This event, climax of this book Fahrenheit 451 made me feel awkward, and angry because Guy Montag's wife betrayed him. Betraying husband/wife is just unacceptable to me and I was actually surprised by how Mildred betrayed his wife Guy Montag. Also, as a christian I was surprised again with the Montag's action. If I were Guy Montag I would burn my house for what I have done , instead of killing his captain Beatty. It made me so unacceptable because I think Montag has no responsibility. He burnt other people's house by catching them but when he got caught by his captain Beatty, he just killed his captain and ran away. He should be more responsible for his work and his job. Those two events made me very awkward and angry at the same time.

Question # 5
* what is the mood of this novel? do you find this novel saddens you in any way? why?
There are humongous number of books in the world and some of them have a good mood and some have very depressing mood. However, As I read this novel Fahrenheit 451, this novel absolutely revealed an extremely depressing mood. First, Fahrenheit 451 is one of the very depressing book I have ever read, because in this world, fireman have to put a fire on the houses when people get caught with reading books instead of putting fire away. There is no freedom and it is also very depressing that there is a huge lack of knowledge in the world where Montag lives. Even people want to read a book, they can't but instead they have to read secretly in order to survive. Fahrenheit 451 made me feel very sad in various ways. For instance, as I said before, having a no freedom and education/knowledge are very discouraging. Just imagine: you are reading books because you want to learn something from it, however, suddenly fireman comes to you house and burn your house, how would you feel? If i were in that world where Guy Montag lives, I would rather commit a suicide because there is no point of living. Also it made me feel sad when Clarisse McClellan got killed by a car accident. She did nothing wrong and this made me thought of today in this real world, because countless number of people die from the sudden accident that no one can expect. It made me feel unfair about this event but it made me think again about Jesus Christ.

Question #2
* are there are any current situations in the world that relate to the novel? what are they, and how do they relate?does the novel shed any light on how current situations could be resolved or "fixed"?
Obviously, there are a lot of current situations in the world which are related to this novel Fahrenheit 451, and this is a very serious problem that we are actually facing it today. For instance, in the world where Guy Montag lives , people do not like to read but instead they listen to the radio and watch television and depend on mass communication because they do not have right to read a book and have less freedom, and this is what exactly happening to us in the real world. In the real world where we live, people do not like to read books because it takes long time and it could be boring sometimes. Me as a teenager, I also do not like to read books. However, we prefer more comfortable things and something fun like using mass communications such as internet, television, radio, and newspaper. We, human are just being lazy which is not a good thing to do. This novel, Fahrenheit 451 absolutely shed light on the current situations. For example, Guy Montag lately realized the importance of knowledge and book, so he tried to change the world and in the real world, we should stop being lazy, and we should prevent the situations that was happened in the world where Guy Montag lives. We should have more freedom than the world where Guy Montag lives. Also, we should take the advantage from it , because in our society there is no such a law that we are not allow to read books or anything else that is just does not make a sense like not allowing to read books, we should seriously change to prevent those situations.

Qustion # 1
* what is the major theme of this novel? why is this theme important to a teenager living in 2007?
Every novel has a major theme and according to the Dictionary.com, the definition of a theme is a subject of discourse, discussion, meditation, or composition; topic: The need for world peace was the theme of the meeting. I believe the theme of this novel, Fahrenheit 451 is the ignorance of the importance of the knowledge, because in the world where Guy Montag lives, Government made a rule which people are not allow to read books or fire man like Guy Montag should burn their houses if they get caught with reading. Also, people do not read but in stead all they do is watch television and listen to the radio, because the government is thinking that if people read the books, people would have different opinions and fight among them and make a revolution. However, this also connects to all teenagers living in 2007. For example, I am one of the people who live in Guy Montag's world, I do not read book, actually I do not like to read books because it is boring and you can do all different stuff in internet. I believe more than half of a teenager does not want to read but they would rather watch the television and use the computer for the information. I think this situation should be fixed and I as a one of those teenager should try to read more books and learn the importance of the knowledge and try not to depend on other mass communication such as television, newspaper, and internet.
