Question 1

* what is the major theme of this novel? why is this theme important to a teenager living in 2007?

I believe the major theme of this novel, Animal Farm is the abuse of power. Abuse of power is still a big problem in this world. In this novel Animal Farm, there are lot of scenes that reveals abuse of power. For example, Mr. Jones, of the Manor farm, was the owner of the farm, but he just made animals work like a slave and spank them and gave them only a little amount of foods. This is totally abusing the power he got as the owner of the farm. He should have give them more freedom. Also, after Mr. Jones was abandoned in the farm, when Napoleon became a leader of the Animal Farm, He did not care about his animals and he made them work harder than before. He had a fabulous life than any animals had. Napoleon also changed the seven commandments. He drank a lot of alcohols and he killed some animals for no good reasons. This theme is extremely important to not only teenager living in 2007, but also important to teenager living in future, because if some people like president or high ranked person in the nation abuses the power, there might be a war or a revolution and the nation would be chaotic and get destroyed.
