* what is the mood of this novel? do you find this novel saddens you in any way? why?
The mood of this novel, Animal farm is very depressing and sorrowful, because at the beginning of the story, the old pig Major talked to all animals about the freedom and they all thought that it would be peaceful after Mr. Jones leaves the Manor Farm. However, it was not peaceful after he left. As soon as Mr. Jones left, Napoleon and Snowball made seven commandments but Napoleon violated one of the seven commandments and tried to kill Snowball with his nine enormous dogs. And After this, Napoleon finally decided to do a windmill project and he made all other animals to work on it but not the pigs. He was actually violating another commandment which was "All animals are equal". But animals were forced to work on the windmill project and they got a little amount of foods and they were very tired. As time goes, Napoleon was violating the commandments one by one. He killed another animal, he communicated with human, he slept in a bed all the time, he drank alcohol, and finally he even changed the commandements that "All animals are equal but some animals are more equal than others." The other animals were just a slave of Napoleon, he made them work for his own benefit. This novel saddens me because all other animals thought that there would be a better life after Mr. Jones left but actually they had the worse life.
